Friday greetings, friends,
I’m later today because of Nettie’s thanksgiving service, but most of you knew that I would be because you were there too! This is one of my favourite photos of her (it’s a good one of Hilary too):-
Because I am later, instead of my usual ramblings, I’ve decided to send you our week in pictures. This next one comes from the Cornish Guardian and shows the opening of Bridge 49 last Saturday………… I can’t work out where it was taken from; I’ve never seen the top of Rev John’s head before!!!!!!!!
But this is my favourite because it shows Steve Wild, our District Chairman, taking his ‘chair’ duties seriously for Rev Margery……..
The beautiful cross Rev John is holding was lovingly and expertly crafted for Bridge 49 by Rev Leslie. Both the cross bar and base are in the shape of bridges but the more you look the more you see.
Straight after the opening of Bridge 49 Leslie and Tricia went to Southampton to be with their son Sam for his service of accreditation as a local preacher and this family picture shows two very proud parents and grandparents.
I’ve no idea what the next week will bring, but I do believe that it’s important that we both recognise and celebrate all the good things, times and people in our lives – that’s surely what Nettie’s wonderful service was all about.
Love to you all,
wherever you are and whatever you’re doing,

We’ve two extra opportunities to pray together coming up over the next couple weeks!
Saturday 11th October – 6pm onwards
The newly appointed Circuit Youth Development Worker, Jon Lewis is journeying around all the chapels in the circuit to meet with the congregations, and to pray with them in their churches, and in their communities.
This evening is an opportunity to do this, and will include ‘prayer walking’, praying for the local community, and prayer in the church. it would be great to see a good number of Mount Charles folk to give a warm welcome and show our support for Jon as he seeks God’s will for the future as he serves the circuit.
Saturday 18th October – 6pm til 9pm
We will be hosting a Circuit Prayer Event. This is the fourth one that the circuit will have held over the last few months. They include opportunity to spend time studying the Bible, discussing Circuit Issues and praying together, with a specific focus on the future and praying into the challenging questions and decisions we face as a circuit over the coming months.
The evening is split into 6 half our slots, so if you can’t make all of it, come along at the hour, or half hour, and you will be made most welcome.
Mount Charles begins a new journey this week as we hold the first Away day we have held for quite a number of years.
It was planned to be held at Gunwen Methodist Church, but will now be at Stenalees Chapel instead.
It will be a day of fellowship, worship and prayer.
