Have an ethical Christmas

Please consider buying charity cards and fair trade gifts and cooking ingredients this Christmas.  There is a good selection available at SACREdplace, and you can either visit the shop or buy items from the stall at coffee morning on the last Friday of every month.  Help to promote fair and ethical trade and support a local Christian venture at the same time.

Warning – Telephone Scam

One of the members of the church e-mail group has received a malicious phone call which purported to be from HMRC and advised her that serious legal action had been taken against her, that the case was time-limited and she was to call back a certain number.

She put the phone down before the caller gave her the number, pressed 1471, noted the number that had rung her, then used a neighbour’s phone to report the incident to Devon & Cornwall Police, who put her in touch with the Action Fraud Police line.  The case is now being investigated.

Please let as many people as possible know about this scam.
